Welcome
Australian Energy Producers is proud to partner with the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA) to relaunch the biennial tax conference, bringing together leading voices from across the natural gas and mineral resource sectors.
The Energy & Minerals Tax Conference 2025 will provide an important platform for tax professionals, policy makers, and industry leaders to discuss the evolving tax and royalty landscape for Australia’s biggest tax-paying sector, and what Australia needs to remain competitive amid an increasingly uncertain global economic outlook.
The conference is an opportunity to highlight the significant economic and tax contribution of the natural gas and mineral resources sectors, which accounted for more than half of the income tax paid by large corporations in 2022-23.
It is also an opportunity to share ideas on what needs to be done to ensure Australia’s tax system is fit for purpose to support a strong, internationally competitive resources sector.
We are delighted to see this important event return to the calendar and hope you can join us to be part of the conversation.

It is vital to get tax experts, policy makers and business professionals in the same room to discuss and dissect the most pressing tax issues in the minerals and energy space.
Highlighting the challenges facing the mining and energy industries provides a blueprint for policy makers to secure the extraordinary contribution the resources sectors make through taxation, royalties, regional and remote community employment and investments in innovative technology.
This will be a unique opportunity to enhance your knowledge and gain practical insights into the industries that shape Australia’s economy.
We are excited to be putting this incredibly important event back in the calendar. Now is the time for our industries to advocate for taxation and royalty policies that are internationally competitive in order to attract the investment to realise the opportunities that the next decades offer.
